Counselor, MAPC

Gabe John

Who am I?

I grew up in various states dueto my Dad’s job. I graduated from GCU with my Bachelors in Psychology and then my Masters in Professional Counseling. I played collegiate football in Oklahoma and stay active with various sport leagues throughout the week.

What brought me to this field?

Growing up, I learned a lot about relationships and how people act. Living in various states and seeing different cultures, I was blessed to be able to meet and be part of many families that became second families to me. I also learned that “every man has a right to decide his destiny”- Bob Marley; this quote has become my mantra to life. No matter what, we all go through life and things will fall in place and others will test us, but our own path that we generate for ourselves is what matters the most. I have always had talent at understanding people from various backgrounds and illustrating empathy to all. I believe through empathy we can connect with others on a deeper level. As a result, we can connect with our ownself more, too. I always knew that I wanted to help people but I was not sure how that would be possible. Nonetheless, I have found my calling to help others, particularly, adolescents and young adults.

Specialty and Training Experience:

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Solution-Focused Therapy

Art Therapy (Music and Drama)

There is no size that fits all, my goal is to meet you where you are and find what works for you. I also like to venture out and learn new modalities that could be applied when working with clients who may not be fond of the modalities that I have mentioned above.
