Position Description:
The Behavioral Coach will work closely with youth to provide positive support and
interventions.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Provide behavioral coaching to children, adolescents, and families in the home
and/or school. - Participate in Child and Family Team meetings.
- Develop age-appropriate interventions based on behavioral goals established
by the Team.
- Teach behavioral interventions to the client(s), reinforce follow-through, and
report findings.
- Complete documentation and submit it within the required time frames.
- Partake in weekly supervision and scheduled training.
Primary Objectives:
- As applicable; assist, teach, coach, and mentor individuals in skills of daily
living including but is not limited to coping skills strategies, housekeeping,
personal hygiene and grooming, budgeting, shopping, community activities,
and community resources.
- Ensure the daily completion of goals identified in the person’s Treatment
Plan, Behavioral Plan, or Child Family Team meetings.
- Serves as a point of contact and ensures ongoing collaboration including the
communication of appropriate clinical information with other involved parties
as appropriate and
coordination of care with a person’s family, behavioral and general medical
and dental health care providers, community resources, and other involved
supports including educational, social, judicial, community, and other state
agencies.
- Demonstrate skills in planning, implementing, and coordinating health
promotion strategies including health and wellness activities
- Working knowledge of DSM IV, community resources, clinical methods
and procedures, and application of the same. Knowledge of psychotropic
medications
Required Personality, Abilities, Requirements and Maturity:
- College graduate with a degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or
a closely related field preferred. A High School Diploma with 5 years of
experience is acceptable.
- Participate in all required meetings and training. (Child and Family
Team, staffing, department and BFCS Team meetings, etc.)
- Computer Skills are required
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in De-escalation and behavioral management, and crisis
intervention methods.
- Valid AZ Driver’s License and MVR clearance and current auto insurance.
- Fingerprinting Clearance Card, Level 1 (at time of hire).
- Experience working with multicultural and low socio-economical
individuals.
Supervision:
The Behavioral Coach shall report directly to the Clinical Director
